(personality)
Hello, Bonjour! Tea Fannie doesn’t actually speak french but she is Canadian to the fullest. Her name may be complicated to spell but she says to take it up with her mother. This Alberta rapper started off her music career in Treaty 6/edmonton and moved around a lot (her father served). 4 provinces, 9 cities but she calls Mohkinstsis/calgary home! She grew up listening to Kenny Rogers and Whitney Houston, no typo, and by the time she was old enough to choose her own ear vibes she was into Green Day and Nas. Her music style reflects that in a random way especially because she listens to music for lyrical content over beats which is kind of different in this day and age. Her music is heavily lyrical as well and she wants people to go back and listen to it again like: “did she just say…???”

Tea Fannie is a Mohkinstsis/calgary based Hip-Hop (ish) artist. She was born in Victoria, BC but basically grew up in Treaty 6/edmonton, as an army brat (father served), she moved around quite a bit, 4 provinces and 9 cities, but now calls this city home! She grew up listening to Kenny Rogers and Whitney Houston, no typo, and by the time she was old enough to choose her own ear vibes she was into Green Day and Nas. She feels that her music style reflects that in a random way especially because she listens to music for lyrical content over beats which is kind of different in this day and age. Tea Fannie’s music is heavily lyrical and she wants people to go back and listen to it again and again like: “did she just say...???”.

Tea Fannie, like most rap artists, used to write poetry growing up, but she would never recite in front of anyone. She’s always had a deep love for music, but of course growing up on the likes of Whitney Houston, she figured if she couldn’t sing like her then she couldn’t be a singer, and if she couldn’t sing, then she couldn’t do music duh! Fast forward to 2019 and she got over her stage fright when Wayz the Artist told her she had to perform at his album release party. Tea Fannie was so terrified, but when she stole everyone’s attention that day, she learned that, the feeling she got after, would trump any fear she would ever have. She hasn’t looked back since! It’s time to show the world who Alberta is, we’re ready.
